Jaime W. Macías was born near Washington D.C. in 1980. While still an infant, his family moved to Los Angeles where he has been influenced by Hollywood, border politics and smog. Having a strong interest in the arts since early childhood, he began his artistic career as a photographer while in high school.
Jaime completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts Studio Arts at the University of Southern California in 2001. During that time, while continuing explorations in traditional photography, his interests also expanded to include printmaking, sculpture, and design.
Jaime still lives and works in Los Angeles where he draws inspiration from sand, snow, suburbia, and south central.
